Formed in 2002, The 1975 consists of Matt Healy, Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald and George Daniel. The band’s name comes from a Beat-era book Healy was given at a yard sale. At the bottom of some wild scribblings, he noticed the date “1st June, The 1975”, and it stuck with him.

Following the release of their first EP, Facedown, in 2012, the quartet built up a huge following before releasing their self-titled debut album the following year.

The band’s second album, I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It, came out in 2016 and yielded a trio of hits with Love Me, The Sound and Somebody Else.

A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships will be the band’s third album. They’ve already released the singles Give Yourself a Try, Love It If We Made It and TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME.

The 1975 are an indie rock band from Manchester, England, fronted by Matt Healy, alongside Ross MacDonald, Adam Hann, and George Daniel.

The band formed in 2002, releasing two EPs, ‘Facedown’ and ‘Sex’, before their self-titled debut hit shelves in 2013 and topped the UK Album Chart. In 2015, following a brief hiatus and rumours that they had split, the band confirmed their return and released their second album, ‘I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It’ in February 2016.

The band have played headline tours around the UK, Ireland Europe and both North and South America.

Now, The 1975 have big plans for 2019 – heading out on a huge tour of the UK, Ireland, US and Canada supporting their November 2018 album, ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’.

They also headline Reading and Leeds Festivals, Glasgow’s Summer Sessions and play a February London show in aid of Warchild UK. What a busy year. Catch them live by checking out the tour dates and ticket information
