Bastille encompasses four key players: singer Dan Smith, drummer Chris Wood, bassist William Farquarson, and keyboardist Kyle Simmons. Bastille began recording music in 2010 under the indie label Young & Lost Club, which included singles “Flaws” and “Icarus” and the EP “Laura Palmer.” The band utilized social media sites YouTube and MySpace to expose audiences to new releases via the Internet. The mixtapes “Other People’s Heartache” parts one and two showcases the band’s talent in remixing covers of well-known songs like “Titanium” by David Guetta and TLC’s “Scrubs.” In 2011 Bastille participated in some of UK’s major musical festivals like Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, and Blissfields.

Bastille gained a following in the UK during 2012 after Virgin Records released the singles “Overjoyed” and “Bad Blood.” Soon after, the band received honorable mentions in UK music magazine “Q” and British newspaper “The Guardian.” Virgin Records re-released “Flaws,” one of Bastille’s first compositions and the single jumped to No.21 on the UK Top 40.

Bastille released their debut album “Bad Blood” in 2013 and it quickly exploded on the charts. The album peaked at No.1 on the UK charts and the single “Pompeii” reached No. 5 in the U.S. The positive reviews secured Bastille a slot at the UK summer music festival Reading and Leeds. Bastille’s music has also gained exposure through television, appearing on shows like “The Vampire Diaries,” reality show “Made in Chelsea,” and British soap opera “Hollyoaks.” On 4 February 2014, Bastille won Best Breakthrough Act at the BRIT Awards.

Stone Temple Pilots Tour 2019

Stone Temple Pilots Tour 2019: Stone Temple Pilots (formed in 1985) is an American grunge, psychedelic and alternative rock band from San Diego, California, U.S.

Stone Temple Pilots, formerly known as Swing and Mighty Joe Young, was originally formed of frontman Scott Weiland, bassist Robert DeLeo, drummer Eric Kretz and guitarist Dean DeLeo. As Mighty Joe Young the band recorded and released a demo in 1990, many of which tracks featured on the band’s debut LP. After developing a fan base by playing regularly in the San Diego area they were informed the name Mighty Joe Young had already been claimed and thus came Stone Temple Pilots.

The band signed with Atlantic Records in 1992, the same year Stone Temple Pilots released their debut album “Core” which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The album claimed significant commercial success, however the band were seen by the critical press as grunge imitators, copying the revered band such as Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains.

Stone Temple Pilots debuted the song “Big Empty” on an episode on MTV Unplugged in 1993 in anticipation of their sophomore album “Purple” in June 1994. Selling over three million copies in just four months, “Purple” was led by the hits “Vasoline” and “Interstate Love Song”.

Taking a more glam rock, psychedelic rock direction Stone Temple Pilots’ third studio album “Tiny Music… Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop” was recorded at a rented mansion in Santa Barbara, California, U.S. The album was a favourite of the band’s among critics although it failed to hold such popular commercial appeal as its predecessors. After the release Weiland, who had previously struggled with a heroin addiction, relapsed and the band cancelled their tour and support lot on Kiss’ reunion tour.

The band without Weiland under the moniker Talk Show released one eponymously titled album in 1997 before calling it a day. A year later frontman Weiland released his debut solo album “12 Bar Blues” in 1998 to moderate critical acclaim. The same year Stone Temple Pilots reunited and began work on “Shangri-La Dee Da” which got its release in the summer of 2001, although with a lack of label promotion the album was a commercial disappointment.

In 2003 label Atlantic Records pushed a greatest hits album, and frontman Weiland formed the successful supergroup Velvet Revolver with Guns N’ Roses members Slash, Matt Sorum and Duff McKagan and former Wasted Youth guitarist Dave Kushner. After releasing two album “Contraband” in 2004 and “Libertad” in 2007, Weiland left the group.

Stone Temple Pilots’ members reconciled with one another at a private beach party they were asked to play which led to the announcement of a 65-date North American tour and an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Shortly after in 2008 Weiland released his sophomore solo album ““Happy” in Galoshes” and the Stone Temple Pilots release a self-titled sixth studio album on May 25, 2010.

In 2013 it was announced Weiland had been fired from the group and his official replacement Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. Stone Temple Pilot’s include Bennington release the single “Out of Time” in May 2013.

Two Door Cinema Club 2019

Two Door Cinema Club: If Two Door Cinema Club’s second album, Beacon, due out on September 4th, feels warmer and more upbeat than fans might expect from the Irish band, it’s all because of Los Angeles, where they recorded the new LP with producer Jacknife Lee (R.E.M., Silversun Pickups).

“We recorded our first album in London, and this time we just got to drive up PCH [Pacific Coast Highway] and drive by the sea, and it was lovely,” bassist Kevin Baird tells Rolling Stone. “We were so much more focused and so much more excited to be in there and doing it.”

The band wrote their new tunes in Glasgow before heading out to L.A. to team up with Lee. The shift in scenery ending up changing the new material a bit, according to Baird. “We wrote the record in Glasgow in the winter when it was gray and raining all the time,” he explains. “I think for Alex [Trimble], lyrically, he was struggling quite a bit when we were all in Glasgow because it all came back gloomy. That was just the place we were in in our heads at the time.” But once they got to L.A., Baird says, “I feel like we totally swallowed up this lifestyle there. We’d put our short shorts on and go for a run along the beach in Venice before we’d head up to the studio. On the weekends, we’d go shoot guns or something. We went out to bars and had our car parked valet, which we’ve never done before. We just loved it – going to Trader Joe’s –  we felt so healthy. At the end we were like, ‘We wish we could stay here and just keep doing this.’”

All three band members had a big say in the writing of the album, as they lived together in Glasgow while writing the material. “Pretty much 80 percent of the record was written in just three months,” he says. “We’d get up, have breakfast, go down to the basement, write songs, see friends – it was really nice to live that normal life again. It was much more like jamming. “

Producer Lee helped shape the inviting sound of Beacon by giving the trio outside ears. “The main thing we’ve always needed from a producer is a kind of objective viewpoint, because we’re so involved in the songs,” says Baird.

The band will return to L.A. on October 25th to play the Hollywood Palladium as part of a monthlong tour that will kick off on September 28th at Central Park in support of Beacon. Baird and his bandmates have already previewed a few songs during a string of summer dates, both stateside and abroad, and they’ve been heartened by the response.

“I think we’re actually surprised at how well people are receiving them, because people haven’t heard a note of these songs,” Baird says. “It’s really nice for us to see people take a song at face value and just like it because it’s a good song, regardless of whether a radio station has told them to like the song or a magazine has told them. They’re just literally hearing something for the very first time and they’re dancing and having a very good time. That’s the dream, really.”

Visionary musical genius Brian Wilson first rose to international acclaim in the early ‘60s as the mastermind behind The Beach Boys’ “California Sound”, and now he’s bringing his crowning achievement back to fans on his Pet Sounds 50th Anniversary Tour. The seminal album won over fans around the world with its pioneering blend of orchestral arrangements, glistening harmonies, and coming-of-age lyrics, and it’s widely regarded as one of the finest albums of the 20th century. Now, Wilson has invited top-notch musicians and some old friends to help him recreate each masterfully composed song note-for-note from start to finish—all while ticket buyers sing along to each unforgettable melody. With original Beach Boy Brian Wilson performing each beloved tune from the album with his signature good vibrations, this can’t-miss event is sure to stay with fans for a lifetime.

Born in Inglewood, CA in 1942, Brian Wilson honed his musical chops in high school by deconstructing hits by The Four Freshman on the family piano and teaching the harmony parts to his brothers. After befriending Al Jardine in his college choir class, the two had the idea of forming a band. They teamed up with Brian’s brothers, Carl and Dennis, and his cousin, Mike Love, in 1961 and began performing as The Pendletones. After changing their name to The Beach Boys, the group rose to phenomenal success in the first half of the ‘60s with massive hits like “ Surfin’ Safari”, “I Get Around”, and “Help Me, Rhonda”. As their principal songwriter, Wilson had written or co-written over two dozen hits and gained complete control over the group’s studio production by his 21st birthday. His ground-breaking use of the recording studio as an instrument led to increasingly elaborate and experimental songs. Wilson’s talent and creative ambition reached new heights with the release of 1966’s Pet Sounds, an enduring classic that many critics consider one of the best albums of all time. Sadly, Wilson suffered a nervous breakdown trying to top the album’s brilliance and spent much of the next two decades in deteriorating mental and physical health. He recaptured the public imagination in 1988, however, when he released his critically praised self-titled solo debut. As luck would have it, that same year The Beach Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and scored their first number 1 hit in 22 years with “Kokomo”. Since then, Brian has continued to pursue projects at his discretion—both with The Beach Boys and as a solo artist—including his warmly received 2015 album No Pier Pressure.

Brian Wilson will perform the Beach Boys’ 1964 Christmas Album in its entirety this winter on a month-long holiday tour. Original Beach Boy Al Jardine and longtime collaborator Blondie Chaplin will be featured on the run of dates.

This holiday season, Wilson, a few hired hands, and long time bandmates Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin will perform The Beach Boys’ Christmas Album in its entirety along with cuts from Wilson’s solo Christmas album and other holiday fan favorites.

The tour includes a NJ show on December 4 at Bergen PAC and a Staten Island show on December 7 at St. George Theatre. Tickets go on sale Friday (4/6) at 11 AM and 10 AM, respectively, with presales starting Tuesday (4/3) at 10 AM. All dates are listed below.
