Maren Morris Cma Awards 2019:For the second time in four years, Maren Morris leads all nominees for the 2019 Country Music Association Awards. Morris earned six nods for the 2019 edition, including album of the year for Girl and female vocalist of the year, besting 2016 when she tied with Eric Church and Chris Stapleton with five nods each. This makes 2019 the strongest showing by a female nominee since Miranda Lambert garnered nine nominations in 2014.

Jimmie Allen and Ashley McBryde announced nominations in several categories for the 53rd Annual CMA Awards today (Aug. 28)  during ABC’s Good Morning America, while Midland and Morgan Wallen revealed the remaining nominees via Twitter and YouTube livestreams at Billboard’s New York offices. 

Brothers Osborne are close behind Morris with four nominations including vocal duo and musical event for “All My Favorite People” with Morris. Dierks Bentley,  Church, Luke Combs, Kacey Musgraves, Blake Shelton, Stapleton and Carrie Underwood each have three nominations.


Maren Morris is the leading nominee for the 53rd CMA Awards. Morris scored six nominations including nods for Female Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for “Girl.”

Ashley McBryde and Jimmie Allen revealed the nods for the Nov. 13 CMA Awards Wednesday on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and Midland and Morgan Wallen read the remaining categories during a Billboard Live.

Other leading nominees include reigning Vocal Duo of the Year Brothers Osborne with four nods (Single of the Year, Vocal Duo of the Year, Musical Event of the Year, Music Video of the Year) and a host of artists with three. Carrie Underwood, Kacey Musgraces, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, Dan + Shay and Blake Shelton all have a trio of nominations.

Songs performed by Shelton and Dan + Shay are included in the Song of the Year category – an award that goes to the song’s writers and not the artists who performed them. The Song of the Year recognition isn’t included in their personal nomination tallies.

The nominees for the 53rd annual CMA Awards were revealed Wednesday morning, with Maren Morris leading her peers this year with six total nods. The Texas native will vie for Female Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year, for 2019’s Girl. The album’s uplifting title track also landed Morris a pair of nominations for Single of the Year and Song of the Year.

Brothers Osborne, sharing a nod with Morris for “All My Favorite People” in the Musical Event of the Year category, scored four total nominations. Those include the Vocal Duo of the Year, a prize they’ve claimed multiple times in recent years, and a pair of nods for their participation in Dierks Bentley’s hit “Burning Man.” Bentley, meanwhile, is one of several artists to earn three nominations, a group that also includes Kacey Musgraves, Luke Combs, Eric Church, Dan + Shay, Blake Shelton, Chris Stapleton, and Carrie Underwood.
