Louder Than Life 2020
Louder Than Life 2020: One of the biggest bands in music history has been booked to headline next year’s Louder Than Life festival in Louisville.
Metallica will return to the city for the 2020 festival, which this year was part of Trifesta, a collection of three music festivals over consecutive September weekends put on by Los Angeles-based Danny Wimmer Presents. Metallica will play two different sets at next year’s festival, according to the festival’s website. The band will play Friday and Sunday nights of the festival, set for Sept. 18-20.
Metallica set a KFC Yum Center attendance record in March with its show there, drawing more than 23,000 fans. This year’s Louder Than Life — like Bourbon & Beyond and Hometown Rising held on the grounds of the Kentucky Expo Center — drew an estimated 128,000 attendees and featured headliner Guns N’ Roses.
