Doobie Brothers Tour 2021

Doobie Brothers Tour 2021: The band has added 23 dates to the tour. Check them out below.

A half century on, The Doobie Brothers are still smoking.

To celebrate 50 years since the band’s formation, founding members Tom Johnston, Michael McDonald, Pat Simmons and John McFee will reunite for a special North American tour next year.

Kicking off in June 2020, the 30-date run will mark the first time the foursome will tour together in nearly a quarter century.

Simmons teased The Doobie Brothers 50th Anniversary Tour trek during the band’s set Monday night (Nov. 18) at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, part of a short outing that includes performances of its albums Toulouse Street and The Captain and Me

After hitting “Takin’ It To the Streets,” the singer and guitarist told the audience, “that’s really good, maybe we should go on the road.” He wasn’t kidding. The four-time Grammy winning band will kick off the jaunt June 9, 2020 in West Palm Beach, FL, the first stop of 30 cities including Nashville, Toronto, Denver, Seattle and Los Angeles.

“We’re truly excited about our 50th Anniversary Tour,” comments Johnston in a statement, “as it’s a celebration of the band’s entire history. We’ll be performing songs from our full catalog, as well as new music.”

According to LN, expect to hear a wide range of the veteran band’s hits on the 2020 outing, including “Listen To The Music,” “Takin’ It To The Streets,” “Long Train Running,” “Black Water,” “What A Fool Believes,” “China Grove,” “Minute By Minute,” “It Keeps You Runnin’,” “Jesus Is Just Alright With Me” and others.

Earlier this year, Johnston told Billboard the Doobies have been in the studio with producer John Shanks (Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Goo Goo Dolls, Miley Cyrus), creating five songs for an EP the band plans to release next year.

Long considered one of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame great slights, the Doobies last month were finally nominated for induction.
